Holiday Cheer, Part 3

Star Wars turns 40 next year. If that doesn’t make you feel old, you’re probably way too young to remember the original theatrical release. Those of us who were around at the time remember all the merchandising and tie-ins that came with the Star Wars juggernaut. The once-broadcast “Star Wars Holiday Special” was certainly a low point, but fortunately has no recitation of “The Night Before Christmas.” There was an album released in 1980 called Christmas in the Stars: Star Wars Christmas Album, which featured C-3PO and R2-D2 doing Christmas songs and stories. This same album also featured the first professional recording of Jon Bon Jovi (credited as Jon Bongiovi) on the song “R2-D2 We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” But enough trivia, let’s get on with the Merry!

EDIT: Wishing Carrie Fisher a speedy recovery from her cardiac episode.

Star Wars – “A Christmas Sighting (‘Twas The Night Before Christmas)”

I started out as a child, then things kind of grew from there.  I spend way too much time around computers and radios, but I do like to take a break once in a while.  I'm not a real doctor, but I played one on the radio in college. A bit later on, I wrote an article that was published in COMPUTE!'s Gazette (Commodore 64/128 magazine). I also think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.
