Was there any doubt that Howard Stern would re-up his SiriusXM contract for another five years? He really can’t go back to terrestrial radio where the FCC monitors his every word. Where else can he go? RadioInsight does make an interesting observation:
At the end of the five year deal, Stern will have been with SiriusXM for 15 years and turning 67 years old making it very likely this is his final contract.
Not only that, but by December 2020, he will have been in the radio business for nearly 45 years. That’s a lot of waking up in the pre-dawn hours to provide entertainment for grumpy commuters on the highways and byways of America. He’s already adjusted his schedule so that the show starts at 7am rather than 6am.
Enjoy the next five years, SiriusXM subscribers.
