It’s… Flashback

Matt Pinfield, former WRXP personality, has a new radio gig:

Matt Pinfield gets major props from Cumulus Media to host its classic rock weekend show “Flashback” on 219 radio properties worldwide, starting January 20. The show features music and pop culture from the ’60s through the ’80s.

In the summer of 2011, WRXP dropped its rock music format and switched to all-news FM News 101.9.  RXP continues to broadcast, but as an online-only station.

It’s been years since I’ve listened to “Flashback,” but I can’t forget the unmistakable voice of original host Bill St. James (admit it, you can’t get his voice out of your head, either).  I associate Matt Pinfield with modern and alternative rock, so it will be interesting to what he brings to the show.  Maybe the occasional Nirvana or Soundgarden track?  No, wait, R.E.M.  Lots of R.E.M.!  They were big in the ’80s, right? 😉

I started out as a child, then things kind of grew from there.  I spend way too much time around computers and radios, but I do like to take a break once in a while.  I'm not a real doctor, but I played one on the radio in college. A bit later on, I wrote an article that was published in COMPUTE!'s Gazette (Commodore 64/128 magazine). I also think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.
